There is so much I thought I had before you came into my life. Like I thought I had love til I saw your pretty brown eyes. I thought I had patience til you said mama one more time. I thought I had kindness til you asked my for the last of what was mine. I just knew I had peace until it was kindergarten time. Of course no one could take my joy til you fell off your bike and scrapped away the side of your face. And goodness well, "why you do that mama", you asked that faithful day. Gentleness I think I've done well with that or maybe not cause sometimes I loose self-control and my voice stops being quiet and calm and I start to yell. There is so much I thought I had before you came into my life. I thought you were mine to teach, but it seems your here to help me grow up.
